Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company is seeking a Cyber Threat Hunter to proactively hunt threats across networks, endpoints, and security data. You will analyze logs, establish baselines, and collaborate with SOC to improve alerts and monitoring.

You will develop automation to streamline hunting tasks, research attacker TTPs, and contribute to incident response documentation and governance. A strong background in malware analysis and reverse engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Cybersecurity or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting across networks, endpoints, and security datasets to identify, isolate, and help eradicate advanced threats before they impact operations.
• Analyze logs from multiple sources to detect suspicious behavior and validate threat activity.
• Establish and maintain baseline patterns for normal traffic and system activity to improve anomaly detection and investigative accuracy.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts and detection engineers to recommend new alerts, analytics, and monitoring logic.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows (SOAR, Python, PowerShell) to streamline hunting activities and reduce response time.
• Research adversary TTPs and develop investigative leads from threat intelligence and observed behaviors.
• Support incident response by creating incident documentation, follow-up actions, and reporting criteria.
• Examine malware and threats to determine nature, scope and impact; apply reverse engineering to understand behavior.
• Provide insights to improve vulnerability research and threat analysis.
