Job summary

Penn State Abington is seeking a Proactive Adviser/Academic Success Coach to provide targeted, high-touch advising to at-risk first- and second-year students. You will help students plan courses, set educational goals, and develop an academic plan to support degree completion.

The successful candidate will work with diverse students, connect them to campus resources, and promote experiential learning and extracurricular opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Initiate early and regular contact with students in the cohort.
• Help students clarify and plan educational goals and select appropriate courses.
• Advise students on developing an academic plan to complete their degree.
• Meet with students on a scheduled basis to keep them on track.
• Connect students to resources (learning support, financial aid, career services).
• Promote experiential learning opportunities, student life activities, and extracurriculars.
• Continued outreach to ensure engagement and positive progress.
