Job summary

Penn State is seeking part-time Academic Coaches to work with at-risk student-athletes across the 2026-27 academic year. The role focuses on developing study strategies, time management, organization, and self-advocacy within a diverse university setting.

Responsibilities include weekly sessions, report writing, trainings, and adherence to MAC, Penn State, B1G Ten, and NCAA policies. Hours capped at 20 per week with a typical minimum of 5 hours; evenings and Sundays possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor’s degree required; higher is preferred.
• Current Penn State graduate students are preferred but qualified applicants with equivalent credentials and/or experience mentoring, coaching or teaching will be considered.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend weekly scheduled appointments with assigned mentees.
• Write and submit timely and accurate session reports.
• Attend initial and ongoing meetings/trainings and comply with policies.
