The Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oregon seeks to establish a pool of qualified candidates for Pro Tem Instructor positions in Earth Sciences. Depending on departmental needs and qualifications, Pro Tem Instructors may teach lower or upper-division undergraduate Earth Science courses, including introductory sequences.
Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to three years, based on programmatic need, funding, and performance.

The Department of Earth Sciences within the College of Arts andSciences supports significant research activities in a wide rangeof fields in Earth and Environmental Science. Research and graduateeducation in the Department of Earth Sciences focuses on subfieldsincluding Geophysics, Volcanology, Climate science, Paleontology,Surface Processes and Planetary Geology. The Department of EarthSciences is also home to the Oregon Hazards Lab and CRESCENT, theCascadia Region Earthquake Science Center, both foundationalpartners in the monitoring and understanding of earthquake andvolcano hazards and their impact to communities in Oregon andWashington.
