The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the intellectual hub ofthe University of Oregon, serving nearly two-thirds of allstudents. The Computer Science Department in the College of Arts and Sciencesoffers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Computer Science. The departmentserves approximately 600 undergraduate and 90 graduate majors, aswell as offering a number of general education classes in thediscipline. Computer Science instruction emphasizes a rigorous yetcreative approach to computing, prioritizing synchronous, hands-on,face-to-face learning rather than fully remote or asynchronousformats.
