The University of Oregon's Department of Physics seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for temporary Pro Tem Instructor positions. Pro Tem Instructors may teach lower-division foundational physics courses as well as select upper-division courses, based on departmental needs and the qualifications of the instructor.
Positions are limited-duration appointments, potentially renewable up to a total of three years, based on programmatic need, funding, and performance.

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the intellectual hub ofthe University of Oregon, serving nearly two-thirds of allstudents. The Department of Physics is an instructional and researchdepartment within the College of Arts and Sciences that supportssignificant research activities in a wide range of fields in thePhysics discipline. The department includes approximately 35teaching faculty in addition to emeritus faculty, research staff,graduate students, and professional/administrative staff. Thedepartment enrolls approximately 2,000 students per term, withapproximately 200 undergraduate Physics majors and 100 graduatestudents.
