Job summary

Ventana Canyon Alliance Llc is seeking a Golf Shop Attendant to provide exceptional service to members and guests. You will greet customers, assist with tee times and check-in, process transactions at the POS, and help maintain merchandise displays and shop cleanliness.

The role requires English proficiency, basic math, and solid customer service skills, with a background check and eligibility to work in the U.S. A 18+ age requirement applies and the position is on-site at our Tucson location.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job.
• Six months’ golf shop, retail, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate point-of-sale systems and demonstrate basic computer proficiency.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome members and guests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Assist members and guests with tee times, check-in, golf shop services, merchandise, and general questions.
• Operate the point-of-sale system for green fee sales, merchandise sales, gift certificates, and billing.
• Process payments accurately and reconcile daily tee sheets.
• Maintain appearance and organization of the Golf Shop and displays.
• Attend staff meetings and cooperate with Golf Operations and other departments.
• Follow Club policies, safety standards, and service expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:The Golf Shop Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional service to members and guests while supporting the daily operations of the Golf Shop. This position greets and assists members and guests, manages tee times and check-in, processes retail and golf-related transactions, supports merchandise presentation and inventory, and maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.The Golf Shop Attendant is expected to maintain a positive, professional, and friendly attitude while anticipating and responding to the needs of members and guests and consistently delivering a high level of customer service.Essential Functions:Greet and welcome members and guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.Assist members and guests with tee times, check-in, golf shop services, merchandise, and general golf-related questions.Maintain the overall appearance, cleanliness, and organization of the Golf Shop, merchandise displays, and surrounding areas.Operate the point-of-sale system for green fee sales, merchandise sales, gift certificates, and member and guest billing.Receive and accurately process payments from members and guests.Reconcile daily tee sheets and assist with resolving discrepancies, including duplicate charges, overpayments, and underpayments.Answer and direct telephone calls and respond to member and guest inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Assist members with special merchandise orders by coordinating orders with the Golf Merchandise Buyer.Maintain and follow established gift certificate procedures.Identify opportunities to assist members and guests with golf merchandise, equipment, apparel, and other special requests.Maintain current knowledge of merchandise, products, pricing, promotions, and available services.Assist with monitoring merchandise inventory and communicate replenishment needs to the appropriate manager.Ensure member and guest transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with established policies and procedures.Maintain confidentiality of members, guest information and financial transactions.Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other required meetings.Work cooperatively with Golf Operations, Outside Golf Services, and other departments to provide seamless member and guest experience.Follow all Club policies, procedures, safety standards, and service expectations.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the duties of the job.Highly motivated to achieve goals, excellent organizational skills with strong computer skills.All other duties as assigned.Able to apply basic math skills and able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Must be able to pass a background check.Education/Experience:High School Diploma or GED.Six months’ golf shop, retail, hospitality, or customer service experience and/or related training preferred.Ability to operate point-of-sale systems and demonstrate basic computer proficiency.Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and accurately handle cash and credit card transactions.English reading, writing, and communication skills sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.Must be able to pass a background check.Must be 18 years of age.Physical Requirements:• Must be able to physically reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.Prolonged periods standing or walking.Must be able to move and organize merchandise, boxes, displays, and other golf shop materials.Must be able to perform repetitive movements associated with operating a point-of-sale system, handling merchandise, and assisting members and guests.Indoor/Outdoor: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions.Schedule: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events, peak golf periods and/or as business needs dictate.
