Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required with 3 years retail experience or 5 years retail experience.
• 1 year of experience in customer service.
• 1 year of experience supporting Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
• Experience directing or supervising teams (with or without direct reports).
• Experience training, mentoring and developing associates.
• Experience working cross-functionally.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enable a team of associates to deliver the best customer experience, including coaching and training, delegating, and monitoring daily tasks.
• Ensure department coverage and manage performance to meet sales and service objectives.
• Engage in customer-facing activities such as greeting customers, clarifying needs, identifying solutions, and closing sales; perform non-customer-facing tasks like down stocking and inventory management.
• Maintain store safety through safety walks and reporting hazards, and understand lifting directions.
• Supervise associates in other departments as needed to meet store demands; communicate issues or praises upward.
• Occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager-on-duty (MOD). Travel to meetings or trainings may be required occasionally.
