Qualifications

• Active credential with AHIMA or AAPC is required.
• Two years of recent, hands-on coding experience.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding conventions.
• Ability to code accurately to a 95% quality threshold.
• Proficient in data entry and basic Excel tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with clients.

Responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes for designated patient types.
• Review facility records to ensure accurate APC assignments and E/M codes.
• Abstract clinical data to support diagnoses, procedures and discharge disposition.
• Serve as a resource for client staff on coding practices and queries.
• Maintain patient and provider confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Participate in client and Savista meetings, trainings, and calls.
• Keep up-to-date with ICD-10, CPT/HCPCS, regulations and third‑party requirements.
• Engage in continuing education to enhance knowledge and credentials.
