Job summary

North Star Diagnostic Imaging is seeking a dependable PRN X-Ray Technologist to join our team in the DFW area. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging in a fast-paced outpatient setting while maintaining exceptional patient care.

This role offers flexible PRN scheduling and opportunities to work across multiple outpatient imaging centers in Texas. Required certifications in Texas (GMR) and ARRT (R), along with graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Medical Board (GMR) certification.
• Current ARRT (R) certification.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current BLS certification preferred.
• Excellent patient care and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray examinations following physician orders and established protocols.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure a safe and comfortable imaging experience.
• Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining image quality standards.
• Practice radiation safety by following ALARA principles and utilizing appropriate shielding techniques.
• Verify patient identity, exam orders, and clinical history prior to imaging.
• Accurately document patient information and imaging procedures in the electronic medical record.
• Maintain imaging equipment and report any equipment concerns or malfunctions.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
• Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and clinical staff to provide outstanding patient care.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
• Assist with other duties as needed to support departmental operations.
