Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset in Holtsville, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a skilled nursing team. The role focuses on assessments, initiating therapies, and bedside treatments for residents with respiratory illnesses.

Candidates must be licensed RRT or CRT in the state, have COARC-accredited education, and BLS certification, with experience in long-term care and tracheotomy preferred. Saturday and Sunday coverage is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and apply respiratory techniques to rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and check equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments.
• Attend IDT meetings.
• Document daily, weekly and monthly activities.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Complete tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
