Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to cover Saturday and Sunday shifts in a skilled nursing setting. The RT will assess and treat residents, initiate therapies, manage equipment, and document care, with a focus on geriatric patients and independent practice.

Requirements include COARC-accredited education, state licensure (RRT or CRT), and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice with BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and implement respiratory therapies for diverse conditions.
• Initiate therapies, document patient records, operate and maintain equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and participate in quarterly in-services for nursing staff.
• Maintain daily/weekly/monthly documentation and attend relevant IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care settings; follow facility procedures.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
