Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a geriatric-focused team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents independently, manage respiratory therapies, and operate related equipment in a skilled nursing setting.

Applicants must be licensed (RRT/CRT) in the practicing state and hold BLS certification; experience with tracheotomy and long-term care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program and licensed as RRT/CRT.
• Licensed in the practicing state with BLS certification.
• Experience in geriatric respiratory care and long-term care settings.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapy to rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Perform a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care environment.
• Follow facility procedures and contribute to caseload management.

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
