Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Ridgewood, NY is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will provide independent assessments and therapies, with Saturday and Sunday coverage as part of a dedicated weekend schedule.

Responsibilities include initiating therapies, bedside treatments, and maintaining comprehensive patient documentation. The role requires licensure in NY, BLS, and prior experience in long-term care or SNF settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients with various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and complete in-services for nursing staff quarterly.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly documentation and participate in IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy and long-term care setting; follow facility procedures.
• Perform tracking, auditing and caseload management; take on related duties.

Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience. • Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
