Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team. The ideal candidate will have an COARC-accredited degree, be licensed as RRT or CRT, and hold BLS.

The RT will assess and treat residents independently, perform bedside therapies, and support staff with quarterly in-services. Coverage includes Saturdays and Sundays with a focus on geriatric respiratory care, documentation, and collaboration with IDT

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program; licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments and implement respiratory therapy to support rehabilitation of residents with various respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, document patient records, operate and maintain equipment.
• Perform bedside treatments and participate in quarterly staff in-services.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation and attend IDT meetings.

Respiratory Therapist (RT)Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience. • Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

Salary: $48 to $52 an hour
