Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging under a radiologist’s direction. The role covers abdominal, vascular, nonpregnant pelvic, and small parts studies, with focus on patient care and timely study completion.

Responsibilities include performing exams, ensuring consent, maintaining records in PACS/Epic, and upholding universal protocol. Requires RDMS or ARRT credentials and a CAHEAP-accredited program completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
• RDMS in Abdomen or OB/GYN at hire, with dual registration required within 18 months; OR ARRT Certification in Sonography (S).
• Proficiency with PACS and Epic; MetriCide testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and protocols.
• Provide age-appropriate care and adapt imaging for diverse patient needs.
• Verify consent forms and follow universal protocol for invasive procedures.
• Maintain accurate patient records in PACS and Epic; document and resolve exceptions.
