Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• Technical/vocational schooling in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Currently enrolled or completion in Surgical Technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate surgeons' needs and communicate with circulating nurse during procedures.
• Maintain high standards for cost containment and quality.
• Assemble supplies, equipment, and medications prior to procedures.
• Support patient and staff satisfaction; maintain relationships with physicians and departments.
• Monitor aseptic technique and correct any breaches.
• Identify environmental hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supervise and train surgical team members; orient new staff.
• Promote safe environment and respond to emergencies.
• Follow infection control practices and PPE usage.
• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives and quality standards.
• Assist team with turnover times and room management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
