Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking PRN Surgical Technologists to join our operating room team. The role involves cleaning and preparing the OR, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting surgeons with instrumentation during procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or hospital on-the-job training with evidence.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Surgical Technologist certification within 180 days of graduation from NBSTSA or approved program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cleaning and preparing the operating room suite.
• Participate in care and cleaning of OR equipment.
• Provide instrumentation for the surgeon in sterile field.
• Assist in patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and rooms for procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe OR suite and manage instrument counts.
• Support intra-operative management and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Assist circulating nurse with instrument counts and supply management.
