Job summary

Longmont United Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support a high-volume OR team in Colorado. You will ensure a sterile environment, assist surgeons and nurses, and prepare bodies of patients for procedures. The team emphasizes meticulous technique and calm, clear communication under pressure.

Responsibilities include instrument setup, counts, back table prep, and maintaining turnover readiness with on-call expectations to ensure safety and efficiency in surgical cases.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current DORA registration as surgical technologist in Colorado.
• NBSTSA certification or NCCT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain highest standard of sterile technique during procedures and check integrity of packs.
• Perform counts with circulator before incision, before closure, and as needed.
• Prepare back table and mayo stand per surgeon's preference card.
• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications.
• Provide on-call coverage outside scheduled hours per department policy.
• Anticipate problems and adjust for emergent cases to protect patient safety.
