Job summary

Optim-Healthcare in Brunswick, GA is seeking a Surgical Technician (PRN) to prepare the operating room, assist surgeons during procedures, and maintain a sterile environment. This part‑time as needed position reports to the Surgical Nurse Manager and supports daily OR operations at Brunswick Premier.

Candidates should have completed a recognized Surgical Technologist program; NBSTA certification is preferred, and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
• NBSTA Certification as a surgical technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room for procedures and assemble supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Assist in cleaning rooms between procedures and at end of schedule.
• Monitor and maintain instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain proficiency in knowledge of surgical instruments and asepsis standards.
• Participate in counts with circulating nurse as needed.
• Identify and preserve specimens received during surgery.
• Report any unsafe conditions or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Contribute to a positive work climate and team effort.
