HSHS St. John’s Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist Extern for PRN coverage in the Springfield, IL surgical services area.

This temporary role supports perioperative care during procedures and includes supervision by skilled staff to ensure proper patient care and procedure flow. The candidate is currently enrolled in a surgical technology program with a High School diploma or equivalent and must have BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Currently enrolled in a recognized surgical technology program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical services related to perioperative care of the surgical patient.
• Customizes care for the unique needs of each patient and their procedure.
• Operates under the direct supervision of Surgical Technologists and RNs.
