Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System - Olathe Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (PRN). Under the direction of the Sterile Processing Manager, you will decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instrument sets for the operating room and ancillary areas in accordance with regulatory and internal standards.

You will ensure quality control, maintain a clean and safe work environment, document sterilization activities, and communicate with surgical teams and other health-system staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Sterile Processing Technician experience or enrollment in a Sterile Processing Certification or Surgical Tech program.
• CRCST certification preferred or required within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, assembles and sterilizes instrumentation according to national guidelines and internal standards.
• Operates departmental equipment within policies and procedures and maintains thorough documentation of sterilization process.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment and communicates patient and department needs effectively.
