Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for Liberty Hospital. The role processes instrumentation for the operating room and related areas, maintaining regulatory and internal standards while delivering customer-focused service to Health System staff and patients.

Responsibilities include decontaminating, assembling and sterilizing instruments, operating department equipment, and ensuring quality control with thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technologist experience or current enrollment or completion of a Sterile Processing Certification program
• 1 or more years experience as Sterile Processing Technician
• CRCST certification within 1 year

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, assembles and sterilizes instrumentation according to national guidelines and internal standards.
• Operates departmental equipment within appropriate guidelines/policies/procedures.
• Demonstrates high levels of quality control by following departmental policies/procedures and thorough documentation of sterilization process.
• Effectively prioritizes and communicates customer needs within the department and with customers.
• Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
• Understands and identifies instrumentation and equipment utilized in all customer areas.
• Performs other assigned duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager related to Sterile Processing.
• Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
