Job summary

PACS is seeking a Staff Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat residents, collaborate with families and the care team, and maintain compliant documentation in medical records. You will lead training for facility staff and supervise CFY students as required by state practice acts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Master/Doctorate preferred.
• Licensed as a Speech Therapist in the state; maintain license in good standing.
• Proficient in Net Health and Point Click Care.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals; communicate with managers, staff and families.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs and rehabilitation potential.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans to improve swallowing and communication.
• Supervise CFY Speech Clinical Fellows and students as required.
• Communicate progress with physicians, nursing staff, and families; participate in care conferences.
• Complete timely, compliant documentation in accordance with regulations.
• Educate residents and caregivers on home programs, safety techniques, and equipment needs.
