Job summary

Powdersville Post Acute in Easley, SC is seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. You will evaluate and treat residents with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders to help them reach maximum function and independence.

You will supervise CFYs and students, collaborate with physicians and nursing staff, and document care compliant with policies and regulations. Competitive pay and flexible PRN scheduling are offered.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
• Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care preferred.
• Experience with Net Health and PointClickCare (PCC) preferred.
• Current SC Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred.
• Must maintain continuing education requirements.
• Must remain in good standing with the State Board.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents to determine speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy needs per physician orders and facility policies.
• Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on resident goals and progress.
• Provide skilled speech-language pathology services to residents.
• Supervise CFYs and students in accordance with state practice regulations.
• Communicate regularly with physicians, nursing staff, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge recommendations.
• Participate in care plan meetings, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation conferences as needed.
• Conduct in-service education and training programs for facility staff.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and payer guidelines.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control and safety protocols.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, cognitive support, swallowing precautions, aspiration prevention, and maintenance programs.
• Recommend and facilitate appropriate adaptive equipment and interventions to support resident function and safety.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues.
