Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated Cytology Specimen Accessioner to join the Overland Park area team. You will perform specimen accessioning, data entry, and sorting in a fast-paced lab environment while following standard procedures and cross-training as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a willingness to learn, and accuracy in data entry with strong attention to detail. Prior Labcorp experience and lab exposure are a plus; overtime and shift work may apply.

• 6 months or more of lab/specimen processing experience preferred.
• Strong data entry and organizational skills; able to use MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for analysis and testing.

• Meet department activity and production goals.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

LabCorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Accessioning team in Overland KS. The Cytology Specimen Accessioner will be responsible for performing specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures. Must be adaptable and willing to learn cross-training tasks in department.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday Overnight Per Diem

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• 6 months or more of experience in a lab or specimen processing
• 6 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs. Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
