Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated individual to join the Specimen Management team in Overland Park, KS. This Per Diem, 1st shift role focuses on specimen preparation, labeling, packing, and coordinating with clients and patients to resolve inquiries.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in specimen processing, and strong communication skills. Prior Labcorp or clinical lab experience is a plus; medical/customer service exposure helps.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years of specimen processing experience.
• Preferred: Labcorp experience; Associates degree; 6+ months in medical/clinical lab; 6+ months in customer service.

• Act as liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Management team in Overland Park, KS

Work Schedule: Per Diem 1st shift

Job Responsibilities

• Act a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.
• Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications
• Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner.
• Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.
• Provide customer education and information as needed.
• Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
• Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.
• Accurately identify and label specimens.
• Pack and ship specimens as necessary.
• Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

Minimum Qualification

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 years or more of specimen processing experience

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• Associates degree
• 6 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
• 6 months or more in customer service

Additional Job Standards

• Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Experience working in a team environment
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
