Job summary

Labcorp in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team. Work schedule: Wed-Sat 6am-4:30pm, handling specimens, preparing them for testing, and entering data while maintaining a safe, efficient lab environment.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to SOPs. Prior Labcorp experience and healthcare exposure are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred Labcorp experience.
• 6+ months healthcare industry experience (e.g., physician's office, clinic, or hospital).
• 6+ months of medical/clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure lab equipment is functioning and maintained.
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
• Replenish bench supplies and maintain a clean work area.
• Complete logs and administrative duties as requested.
• Follow SOPs to ensure safety and quality.

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Overland Park, KS.

Work Schedule: Wed-Sat 6am-4:30pm

Job Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• 6 months or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
• 6 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
