Labcorp in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our clinical laboratory team. This role supports processing and preparing specimens, data entry, and ensuring safety standards.

You will sort specimens, perform basic instrumentation maintenance, and help maintain a clean, efficient work environment in a fast-paced production setting.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED; preferred candidates have prior Labcorp experience or healthcare exposure.

  • Strong communication helps coordinate with lab staff and healthcare teams.

Responsabilités

  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
  • Ensure lab equipment is functioning and perform minor maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
  • Follow all SOPs to ensure safety and quality standards.

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Overland Park, KS

Work Schedule: Wed-Sat 6am-4:30pm

Job Responsibilities
  • Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
  • Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
  • Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
  • Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
  • Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
  • Replenish test bench supplies as needed
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Qualification:
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience
  • 6 months or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital
  • 6 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience
Additional Job Standards:
  • Comfortability with handling biological specimens
  • Ability to accurately identify specimens
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
  • High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
