Job summary

Slaton-Care-Center is seeking a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our in-house team serving residents with person-centered care goals. The role emphasizes evidence-based treatment, caregiver education, and collaboration with physicians for comprehensive care.

The SLP will evaluate swallowing and cognition, develop individual plans, and provide AAC systems as needed. Current Texas licensure and ASHA certification are required, with flexible scheduling in a SNF setting.

Qualifications

• Active Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology.
• ASHA Certification current.
• In good standing with regulatory agencies and licensing boards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits.
• Help residents improve cognition or swallowing.
• Educate residents and caregivers.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to increase independence.
• Provide AAC systems for severe expressive/language disorders.
• Train clients, families, caregivers and other professionals.
• Coordinate with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures (MBSS, FEES).
• Demonstrate competent technical skills per current speech therapy standards.
• Communicate changes in residents' condition.
• Provide accurate billing records and clinical documentation.
• Coordinate and provide training with Restorative Nursing and other staff.
