Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a pot and pan cleaner for the hospital kitchen. The role covers setting up and closing the pot/pan area, cleaning, sanitizing, air-drying, and storing pots, pans, and serving utensils according to department procedures.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe work area, reporting safety hazards, documenting sanitizer solutions, sweeping and mopping, removing trash, and assisting with dish room duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; training provided for those with no experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; up to 35 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and close down pot and pan area per department procedures.
  • Clean, sanitize, air dry, and store pots, pans, and serving utensils.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area and equipment; report safety hazards.
  • Document sanitizer solutions as specified.
  • Sweep and mop assigned areas; remove trash and grease; collect clean rags.
  • Follow safety, sanitation, and dress code policies; participate in meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties may be assigned (dish room, etc.).

Job description

Major Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of the pot and pan cleaning process as required by department standards, regulatory requirements and assigned task list. 1)Set up and close down pot and pan area as required by established department and regulatory processes 2)Cleans,Sanitizes, Air dries and puts away all pots/pans and serving utensils by established department and regulatory processes. 3)Maintains work area and equipement in a clean,safe, and orderly fashion. Notifys Supervisor of any safety hazards.4)Documents sanitizer solutions as specified in department standards Responsible for cleaning/sanitizing all assigned equipment in food service department and maintaining overall kitchen cleaniness according to departmental procedures and schedules. 1)Cleans and santizes all assigned equipment. 2)Responsible for sweeping and mopping of assigned areas of the food service operation. 3)Removal of trash and grease bin as assigned.4)Pick up daily supply of clean rags. Adheres to department safety, sanitation, service/communication standares. 1)Practices safety and sanitation techniques that meet department standards. Use correct body mechanics in the performance of duties.2)Utilizes all chemicals according to departmental and manufacturer guidelines. Practicing a "clean as you go" in day to day task assignments. 3)Demonstrate accuracy and clarity in both verbal and written communications. 4)Demonstrates sound decision making- takes responsibility for decisions.5)Attendance at meetings, inservices, and training sessions. Completes CBT, flu shot and other hospital requirements. 6)Follow hospital and department dress codes. 7)Additioanl or other duties may be assigned as based on needs of department.(ie dish room etc) Education/Experience Required: High school or equivalent preferred. Can train those with no experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language, as related to essential job activities Ability to communicate effectively N/A Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Exposed to extreme temperature changes, heat from pot room. Ability to perform lifting (ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance and/or 10 to 15 pounds frequently).Large amounts of bending and lifting, as related to essential job activities Exposure to cleaning chemicals. This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 08/01/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available.Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
