Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital Food and Nutrition is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant to support pot and pan cleaning and sanitation across the department. You will set up and close the pot area, sanitize utensils, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen workspace.

The role requires basic high school education or equivalent, with on-the-job training available. English proficiency and effective communication are essential for daily operations and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Set up and close down pot and pan area as required by established department and regulatory processes.
• Cleans, sanitizes, air dries and puts away all pots/pans and serving utensils by established department and regulatory processes.
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion; notifies supervisor of any safety hazards.
• Documents sanitizer solutions as specified in department standards.
• Cleans and sanitizes all assigned equipment; sweeps and mops assigned areas; removes trash and grease.
