Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital is seeking a PRN RN SANE Examiner to join our SANE Program. You will provide compassionate, trauma-informed care for patients who have experienced violence, including sexual assault, child or elder abuse, and IPV.

The role includes documentation, forensic evidence collection and participating in an on-call schedule. As a bedside RN on the SANE team, you will work variable shifts and may be required to travel to other Cleveland Clinic facilities.

Qualifications

• Must complete IAFN SANE Adolescent/Adult course within 60 days of hire.
• Complete an IAFN approved SANE Pediatric course within one year of hire for incumbents hired after Apr 1, 2018.
• Current state RN licensure and BLS certification.
• Willingness to travel to other Cleveland Clinic facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment, care, intervention and documentation for assault victims.
• Perform forensic evidence collection and/or photography and maintain chain of custody.
• Develop safety plans and referrals for follow-up care and support services.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, protective services, and other agencies as needed.
• Attend on-call schedules and respond to the facility within one hour.
