Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico seeks an Inpatient Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for the night shift to provide direct, compassionate care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support discharge planning while upholding clinical standards.

Requirements include ADN with NM RN license (or compact), BLS; ACLS preferred or required within unit timeline. Prior med-surg experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum ADN required; BSN preferred.
  • Current NM Board of Nursing RN license or valid compact state license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification preferred or required within designated timeframe based on unit needs.
  • Prior medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize patient care; delegate assignments to support staff based on acuity and staff competency.
  • Maintain clinical competency in delivering direct patient care and evaluating outcomes.
  • Coordinate care with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams for continuity of care and discharge planning.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care and support patients and families during hospitalization, treatment, and recovery.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, discharge care, and disease management.
