Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to provide entry to intermediate level physical therapy services in a post-surgical and outpatient setting. The position is PRN with weekend coverage and one holiday per year.

Responsibilities include executing exercise programs, supporting the Physical Therapist during tests and procedures, and coordinating care with an interdisciplinary team while maintaining regulatory compliance and documentation per PA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant program. Upon hire required.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant upon hire required.
• Basic Life Support upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Carries out a program of exercise and treatment for assigned patients as determined by evaluation by the Physical Therapist.
• Assists the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations and complex procedures per APTA/PPTA rules.
• Coordinates physical therapy activities with the interdisciplinary team to achieve goals.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and state governing bodies.
• Conducts or participates in training medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques.
• Uses safe patient handling for all transfers, lifts and positioning.
• Complies with PA practice act related to communication with supervising Physical Therapist.
