Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA seeks a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatments and provide exercise instruction for patients at entry to intermediate skill level. Full Time (80 hours biweekly), Monday-Friday day/evening, with weekend and holiday coverage as described.

The role supports the Physical Therapist in testing and evaluations, coordinates interdisciplinary care, ensures regulatory compliance, and participates in staff training while maintaining safety and documentation

Qualifications

• Associates Degree required.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience required.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant upon hire.
• Basic Life Support upon hire.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program; upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Carries out a program of exercise and treatment for assigned patients under supervision.
• Assists the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations and procedures.
• Coordinates PT activities with the interdisciplinary team to meet goals.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and state governing bodies.
• Trains medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.
• Uses safe patient handling techniques for transfers and positioning.
• Follows PA practice act related to communication with supervising Physical Therapist.
