Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist to provide entry-to-intermediate level PT services to individual patients within an interdisciplinary treatment team.

You will evaluate, plan and direct therapeutic programs, supervise PTAs, train staff, and ensure safe patient handling, with at least 3 weekend days per quarter and 1–2 holidays per year. Cross-training for post-surgical and outpatient coverage is included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy. Upon Hire Required.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Upon Hire Required and Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient using diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.
• Plans individualized physical therapy program for each patient including exercises, therapeutic modalities and procedures.
• Directs and supervises patient in active, active assisted, passive exercises, muscle re-education, and functional training using appropriate equipment as needed.
• Provides instructions in therapeutic procedures to be continued by the patient.
• Coordinates physical therapy activities in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to facilitate goals.
• Conducts or participates in training medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.
• Utilizes safe patient handling techniques for all patient transfers, lifts and positioning.
• Provides supervision of PTAs and Rehab Aides as required by PA practice act.
