Job summary

Reston Surgery Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a PreOp PACU Nurse to deliver safe postoperative care in an ambulatory setting. You will ensure readiness of the care area, monitor vitals, manage airway, and administer IVs while maintaining patient comfort and safety until discharge.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting (Preop, PACU, ER, ICU or Surgery preferred).
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS Certification required at employment (online not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire; PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient care area, ensure equipment and supplies are provided.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patient vitals and condition per policy.
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system.
• Check dressings/operative sites and report abnormalities to surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and families.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.
