Job summary

SurgCenter of Silver Spring, part of United Surgical Partners International, Inc., seeks a Full Time RN Pre-Op/PACU to deliver quality perioperative care in an ambulatory setting. The role requires nursing licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least 2 years in Pre-Op/PACU.

The RN will follow the nursing process, work with the surgical team, and report to Peri-Operative Services management. Competitive wages and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current state Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Pre-Op/PACU. Previous experience in ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
• Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.
• Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
• Excellent teaching skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
• Strong customer service skills.
• Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change.
• Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-family centered perioperative care using the nursing process in the Pre-Op/PACU setting.
• Collaborate with the perioperative team and report to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services.
• Support standard policies and procedures to ensure quality care.
