Emerald Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join our rehab team on a PRN basis. The PTA will support licensed physical therapists and nursing staff to deliver rehabilitative services to residents.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in New York.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing and modifying treatment plans based on patients’ needs and progress.
• Provide hands-on therapy, including exercises, manual therapy, and modalities as directed.
• Collect and document patient data, including progress notes, treatment outcomes, and responses to therapy.
• Report any changes in patients' conditions to the physical therapist.
• Educate patients and families about therapeutic exercises, equipment use, and home exercise programs.
• Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment and assist patients with devices and aids.
• Collaborate with physical therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive patient care.
• Participate in care team meetings and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Adhere to facility policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements; maintain a clean therapy environment.
