Job summary

Emerald Healthcare in Woodmere, NY is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Rehab team on a PRN basis. The PTA will support physical therapists, assist with therapy sessions, and help residents improve mobility and quality of life through personalized care.

You will document progress, educate patients and families, manage equipment, and participate in care planning with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in New York.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in implementing and modifying treatment plans; provide hands-on therapy.
• Collect and document patient data, progress notes, and treatment outcomes; report changes to the PT.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, equipment use, and home programs.
• Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment and assist devices.
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other staff to create individualized care plans.
• Adhere to facility policies, safety protocols, and maintain a clean therapy environment.
