Job summary

South Mountain Rehab Center in Boonsboro, Maryland, is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant to provide direct rehab care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will implement treatment plans, educate patients, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited physical therapy program, licensed in the state, with CPR certification and proficiency in MS Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT).
• Currently registered/licensed in the applicable State.
• 1 year experience in post-acute care or related setting preferred.
• CPR certification required upon hire or during orientation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail.

Responsibilities

• Participate in community health matters/projects as appropriate
• Liaison with patients, families, and support departments to adequately plan for patient needs
• Demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
• Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility
• Ability to implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Follow physical therapy treatment plans for patients under direction of the supervising PT
• Chart appropriately and timely
• Utilize therapy software accurately
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team

Education

Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT)
