Job summary

Wesley Rehabilitation Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Certified Physical Therapy Assistant PRN to support therapy services under supervision. You will assist the Physical Therapist in implementing the patient’s treatment plan, education and discharge planning, while documenting progress and ensuring safety during care.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, families and staff, adherence to policies, and supervision of PTA students.

Qualifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification as specified by policy.
• Current Kansas Physical Therapy Assistant licensure is required.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Physical Therapist by implementing the patient’s treatment plan and documenting progress.
• Carries out a written treatment plan with measurable goals for age-specific needs.
• Communicates with patients, families, physicians and staff about the treatment plan and safety.
• Assists discharge planning for patients continuing rehabilitation elsewhere.
• Documents patient activities clearly and timely per center policies.
• Supervises PTA students and provides education to patients and staff.
• Monitors compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Supports education initiatives and adapts to change.
• Maintains productivity within established targets.
• Contacts physicians and rehab staff to promote services.
