Job summary

August-Healthcar is seeking a motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide skilled therapeutic services to help residents achieve functional goals, mobility, and independence.

In this role you will document care, participate in care plans, and educate residents and families about restorative programs while maintaining safety and positive outcomes across multiple facilities

Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for PTA licensure in the state of Virginia.
• Clear communication and accurate documentation skills.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Commitment to quality patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled therapeutic treatments under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Carry out individualized treatment plans per physician orders and care plans.
• Monitor resident response and communicate progress to supervising therapist.
• Document treatments, progress, and daily charges accurately and timely.
• Participate in team meetings and care planning activities as assigned.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on restorative programs and home exercises.
• Maintain clean, safe therapy areas and report equipment issues.
• Support quality initiatives and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Travel or float between facilities as needed.
