Job summary

Addus in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to deliver direct care under supervision within the plan of care. You will assist in functional training, therapeutic exercises, and patient education to relieve pain and improve mobility.

The role requires an accredited PTA program graduate, current state licensure, CPR, reliable transportation, and ability to perform home visits in the community.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an Associate’s degree in science or applied science approved by APTA.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.
• At least one year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant (preferred).
• CPR certification maintained.
• Ability to perform home visits and provide nursing care in the home environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct physical therapy according to directions of a qualified physical therapist and the physician's plan of care.
• Treats patient to relieve pain and restore function.
• Directs and aids patients in therapeutic exercises, gait and functional training, transfers, and prosthetic training.
• Administers non-complex therapeutic modalities.
• Instructs and motivates patients in learning functional activities.
• Records and reports patient progress to the supervising therapist and completes clinical notes.
