Job summary

Bakersfield Post Acute in Bakersfield, CA is seeking a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our rehabilitation team in an inpatient Skilled Nursing Facility and Short-Term Rehab setting. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will implement treatment plans, document progress, educate residents and families, and help residents improve mobility and independence.

Active California PTA license, current BLS certification, and prior geriatric or SNF experience are

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Active California PTA license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients under supervision of the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Implement treatment plans to restore and maintain functional mobility.
• Document daily treatment notes and progress in accordance with state and facility standards.
• Communicate patient progress, concerns, and outcomes with the rehab and interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in care conferences as needed.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized therapy department.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, mobility, and discharge planning.
• Comply with all federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.
