Job summary

Bakersfield Post Acute is a Medicare-certified skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation facility in Bakersfield, California. We are seeking a caring and compassionate PRN Physical Therapist Assistant to join our rehabilitation team.

The PTA provides direct patient care under a licensed Physical Therapist, helping residents improve mobility, strength, and independence. Prior PTA program completion, CA PTA license, and BLS certification are required; experience in geriatric rehab is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Active California PTA license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and sound judgment.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Implement treatment plans to restore and maintain functional mobility.
• Document daily treatment notes and progress in accordance with state and facility standards.
• Communicate patient progress, concerns, and outcomes with the rehab and interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in care conferences as needed.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized therapy department.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, mobility, and discharge planning.
• Comply with all federal, state, and facility regulations and policies.

Pay Range: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour (DOE)

We are currently seeking a caring and compassionate PRN Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team.

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role supports the delivery of high-quality rehabilitation services focused on improving functional mobility, strength, and independence for our residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
