Job summary

Ethos is seeking a PRN Specimen Collection Specialist to perform specimen collection in physicians’ offices, including urine, oral fluids, Covid-19, and venipuncture.

You will complete requisitions, ensure specimen integrity, collect patient information, and ship specimens to the lab while using EMR/LIS as needed. The role involves coordinating with clinic staff and field supervisors, with remote supervision and periodic morning shifts.

Qualifications

• 2 years of medical office or laboratory collection experience required.
• Phlebotomy Certificate preferred, but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Collect all urine samples, enter data in Laboratory Information System
• Collect anterior nasal swabs for Covid-19 testing, if requested at account
• Obtain blood specimen collection from patients following Ethos venipuncture protocols
• Follow established patient protocol
• Maintain specimen integrity per Ethos SOPs and reference materials
• Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and completing paper requisitions
• Label specimens for identification and prepare for shipment to lab
• Maintain safe, secure, clean work environment per procedures
• Update job knowledge via training opportunities provided by Ethos
• Adhere to Ethos standards, policies, and federal/state/local requirements
• Interact positively with patients and clinic staff, representing Ethos values
• Work independently and be supervised remotely
• Complete assigned computer trainings and competency sign-offs
• Other duties as assigned
