Job summary

PharMerica is seeking a PRN Pharmacist for Washington, NC to support long-term care facilities, hospitals, and other care centers. You will evaluate orders, maintain resident med histories, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective therapy.

The role requires a Pharmacy degree and state licensure, with 1 year of long-term care experience preferred. Strong communication and teamwork are essential, with flexibility for PRN scheduling across facilities.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree and state licensure as required
• One year of long-term care experience preferred
• PharmD degree preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Evaluate physician orders for drug appropriateness, dosing, interactions, and route
• Maintain patient/resident med history and relevant clinical data
• Ensure monitoring labs are ordered and reviewed with the healthcare team
• Provide clinical and technical support to the facility staff
• Document all communications in the medical record
• Implement and follow drug procurement, storage, distribution and disposal policies
• Maintain required documentation per federal and state regulations
• Notify Pharmacy Manager of medication-related errors
• Assist staff with safe medication procurement, administration, and disposal
• Perform other tasks as assigned
