Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician for a part-time, PRN role at Grandview Endoscopy Surgery Center in Birmingham, AL.

The PCT will support RN/LPN in delivering high-quality patient-centered care, assist with activities of daily living, and help maintain a safe, organized care environment. The role requires 0-2 years' acute care experience or nursing student, BCLS within 90 days, and CNA preferred.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in acute care preferred.
• Enrollment in Nursing program is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of patient care practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in delivering care and maintaining a safe environment.
• Record patient data such as vital signs and intake/output; report to RN/LPN.
• Support patients with meals, hygiene, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Assist with patient positioning and mobility aids.
• Collect samples and monitor blood glucose per protocol.
• Communicate patient information to the care team and maintain professionalism.
• Maintain infection control and PPE compliance.
• Participate in performance improvement and risk management initiatives.
• Maintain regular attendance and compliance with policies.
